Full Description:
Emotional Release for Children provides practical, innovative exercises designed to expand children's self-awareness and creativity and help develop their inner resources (inner life skills), which will also allow the expression and release of painful, repressed feelings from hurtful past experience - emotional release work. The exercises can be used with children in individual or group situations. For children with disruptive behaviour, poor peer relationships, low selfesteem or learning difficulties, the focus will at first be on emotional release. Unlike approaches that focus on management of difficult behaviours, emotional release work allows for a deeper and longer term form of healing to occur and for a new level of integration to be reached. Many of the exercises bring about muscular relaxation as well as emotional integration. The two levels, emotional release work and inner life skills, support each other, relieving emotional stress and developing emotional balance, and so opening the way for expression of the child's full potential. Emotional Release for Children gives background information on dealing with children's emotions and how best to use the exercises.
